The origin

Born from a sight restored

From the personal journey of Jean Carlo de Sene Sousa came a global mission: turning restored sight into access, care, and self-esteem.

MANIFESTO

'Olhar' is a Portuguese word meaning 'to look' — but for us, it means seeing with intention, recognizing oneself with clarity, and caring for what reveals who we are.

Olhar™ was not created to repeat what already exists. It was created to open a new category: a global platform where technology, human care and self-esteem come together to help people see, smile and recognize themselves with greater clarity.

Olhar™ means seeing with intention — and recognizing yourself with clarity.

Every great transformation begins with a different way of seeing.

This is the true story of sight that returned — and of a purpose born with it: bringing access, technology, and care to those who need it most, anywhere in the world.

Olhar™ was conceived and created by Jean Carlo de Sene Sousa, an entrepreneur from Uberaba, Minas Gerais, with more than 30 years of experience building businesses in Brazil.

A few years ago, Jean Carlo lived with nearly 8 diopters of myopia and advanced cataracts that compromised 90% of his vision. The world had lost its sharpness: blurred faces, faded colors, and simple tasks became a silent effort. Everything changed with Irish-made trifocal intraocular lenses, which restored a level of clarity that changed his daily life.

That transformation went far beyond the physical. Regaining sight in maturity sparked a deep astonishment and a clear mission: no one should be deprived of seeing well for lack of information or access.

Combining his business experience, the sensitivity of someone who lived the problem firsthand, and the power of advanced artificial intelligence applied with human care, Jean Carlo brought Olhar to life — a platform that unites technology and human care to restore quality of life.

Pillars: Eyes (eye health and clear vision) · Smile (confidence and expression) · Hair (identity and self-esteem). Olhar Passport: care without borders — from Uberaba to the world. Iris & Lux accompany each person from the first doubt to a calm decision.
